Nintendo Touchpoint

Home%20Page%402x_edited.jpg

Nintendo touchpoint was a small team-based exercise, to establish a new touchpoint while understanding a brand. Nintendo is a fun playful company with plenty of colors to make people’s Nintendo Switch's their own. Although what was lacking from the company was the ability to pre-order a customizable switch. Other brands, like Playstation and Microsoft, have products where the consumer can fully customize the control, making it uniquely their own. This touchpoint, for the Switch, would allow consumers to customize their switch entirely; making it their own. with unique colors calling back to Nintendo's classic games.

Project Goals

Nintendo hits a wide range of audiences, from kids to people in their mid-twenties. Keeping this in mind, we need to add characteristics that would help the nostalgic factor for adults, and have kids choose the colors of their favorite characters. We also had the touchpoint fluidly mesh into Nintendo’s website style with slight gradients and playful UI design, completing the characteristics of what Nintendo is.

Solution

Our solution was a website design. We found that most people would be buying custom products from the site itself. The website allowed us to focus on the design and customization, allowing fluid consumer options. Web design was also Nintendo's main touchpoint, adding on to this was the most sensible option as well. This is the area where most people get their Nintendo news, game info, and updates on products. Allowing this touchpoint to work in with their web design could easily be promoted to the vast audience that Nintendo holds.
